    • 3 studio recitals
  • Students may also participate in Fairfax Loudoun Music Fellowship recitals and Community Events.
  • An annual $45.00 fee covers the purchase of books and other materials.

Practice
Practice is necessary for continued progress and piano should be considered the same as other school subjects and given time every day.  It is the parents’ responsibility to provide a well tuned piano, a quiet place to practice and no interruptions.  It helps a great deal if the parent can sit down once or twice a week and read the assignment sheet to see that the student is not forgetting any items.  It is also nice for the student to know that someone enjoys hearing him or her play!!!

Equipment
  • Piano/keyboard – tuned at least once a year
  • Metronome – I will buy one for you at a discount if you do not have one
  • Loose-leaf notebook – for lesson assignments
  • Music tote bag – helps keep everything together!
Missed Lessons
One make-up lesson will be offered per year for personal illness.  If a conflict with a lesson occurs, such as school, church, family events, etc., students will be allowed to exchange lesson times with another student for that week. Lessons may also be given via Skype, FaceTime, and phone at the regular lesson time.  Lessons will not be canceled when schools are closed because of bad weather.  Lessons missed because of vacations, school conflicts, not being prepared, forgetting, etc. will not be made up and no deduction will be made.

Summer Lessons
Summer lessons are offered and students are required to take five private lessons to reserve their Fall lesson time.  Schedules will be flexible to allow for vacations and special events.
